What
Tuska is Finnish international metal-festival which invites not only Finnish bands (though the latter are in absolute majority), but famous bands from other countries as well.

When
It is usually held on the 2nd weekend of July.

Where
Its location is Kaisaniemi Park in the centre of Helsinki.

The way it goes
The festival days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Up to 2003 there were 3 stages on its territory - the main one and two the canopy-covered small stages. The gigs on two "small" stages come in turn after performances on the main one. Besides, as part of the festival, after the main performances are over, the show goes on in clubs. A 3-day ticket provides you with free entrance. In other cases one should buy tickets for each gig (in Tiketti).

Tickets
There are tickets for only one day of the festival, but 3-day tickets are more convenient for those who intend to stay there for all the days. Tickets are sold through Tiketti and Lippupalvelu). Besides, small amount of tickets are sold at the entrance. The festival being very popular, it is advisable to buy tickets beforehand.

Extra tips

- Drinks in cans and glass bottles are forbidden on the territory of the festival
- Be moderate enough, do not wear things that could hurt your metal bros *lol* (the official site, for instance, mentions wristlets with "nails"). If at the entrance the security thinks that something you wear might be dangerous for the others, you will be offered to take it off. There are luggage-rooms for things that are dangerous or the ones you do not want to take to the territory.
- People under 18 are not let into the alcoholic drinks zone (Koff beer:). You might be asked to show your ID card (sometimes ISIC is not enough, therefore you'd better have your passport as well:)

Accommodation
A lot of Helsinki hotels and student hostels are available.

How to get there
We hope you are not going to ask us about how to get to Helsinki? :) Tuska is located in the park right behind Rautatieasema (Railway Station). You can get there through the platforms or past the Theatre.
