Cumulus hotels are good and expensive. Usually the price for a double room is more than 100 euros per night. Cumulus Kaisaniemi Hotel has two huge advantages due to which the room prices are so high: a 3 minute's walk from the hotel to the railway station (Rautatieasema) and a diverse and delicious breakfast.
Make sure to find out the room prices for a certain period of time (by email, for instance) since they constantly change.

Eurohostel is a traditional place to stay for numerous Russian tourists. It is hard to explain why among lots of Helsinki hostels they choose this one, but the fact is if the Russian do not want to pay much, they stay in this very place.
Prices, like in other hostels, are not higher than 50 euro per room. A shower and WC are in the corridor. Besides, Eurohostel is located rather far from the place we call "the center of Helsinki".

Finn Hotelli is a small piece of Paradise right in the center of the universe. For about 30-40 euros per head you get a pillow underneath your head and, if you are lucky enough, a shower in the room in the building which is situated right next to Forum.
The only problem is a small number of rooms. That is why the hotel rooms are often sold out .

Fenno is located in Kallio. It is a 15-minute trip by tram or a 30-minute walk from the center. But this hotel is really cheap; every room includes a stove and some kitchen utensils, which helps you to save money cooking yourself. And there are always free rooms.

It is a real hostel, cheap (especially for a hotel located right in the center of Helsinki), with the toilet and shower in the corridor and rather poor breakfast. However, this hostel is on Fredrikenkatu, next to Loose bar. Finnish metal life experts know what that means:).

Another hostel, and a cheap one at that. The shower is in the corridor. But this hostel is in Helsinki-center as well. So, the price and location of Mekka may attract your attention.

Scandic Hotels along with Cumulus and Sokos are a middle-class chain of hotels with worthy service. Continental, Grand Marina and Simonkentta hotels can be proud of a very nice location. A pleasant feature of all Scandic hotels is the prices: during one week it can change from 220 up to 80 euros per night and vice versa. That is why if you plan to stay in one of these hotels, do check the price.
Grand Marina breakfast deserves a special mention - here you can taste fried eggs and traditional cornflakes with milk as well as herring and watermelon.

This hotel, as well as many others located in the centre of Helsinki, occupies a restored old building. Finding it is as easy as anything because it stands right next to Forum. All you have to do is make it to the Forum roof and cross the street - as simple as that. The hotel is tiny, rather quiet and very cozy. You even have the impression that only the British stay there.
Inside the hotel there is the famous luxurious Torni restaurant, a cute Irish pub and Atelje bar (on the top of the building). Atelje is a very nice place with an observatiob platform from which you can enjoy a great view on Helsinki roofs, the port and the rest. Ah, yes - the hotel is not cheap at all.

Presidentti is a very good hotel for many reasons. First of all, the location of genius - next to the bus-station. Secondly, it has plenty of rooms with everything you might need. They even have the casino in the hotel. Thirdly, the breakfast is great and the beds are good. The only problem is the price. But it is quite changeable, so do not be lazy to make inquiries if you plan to stay there.
