Finnish band with cute name Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat was formed in 1992. The musicians wanted the band to be unique, with original sound, tough riffs, uncommon harmonies and arrangements and with the vocal that could be recognized from the first notes. Well, the guys succeeded. Nowadays Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat is one of the most stylish Finnish freaks. Loads of humour, metal sound and maximum of eccentricity make the band interesting and attractive. The first album "Kaukana Puhelimista" was released in 1996 by their own label called Blomster Records. In 1997 EP "Iskelma" was also released there. "Kaukana Puhelimista" was being recorded from 1992 till 1996. Debut long-play sounded quite light, but got positive reviews. "Iskelmä" sounded much tighter and metal. Five melodic songs seemed to make up a real concept, and the feedback was really enthusiastic. Weekly Rumba called the EP one of the best singles, and Soundi called "Iskelmä" one of the most interesting indie-project of 1997. In 1998 Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat signed a deal with Megamania, soon their first "official" single "Ovisilma" ("Spy Hole") was released. This single presented album "Kaakao" ("Cocoa"). In a couple of months they released another single - "Buster Keaton", and re-released "Iskelmä" EP. Finnish critics got "Kaakao" as warm as they could. The album was acute, energetic and hyperaggressive, but the music was still melodic and beautiful. As a result of that success, Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat got their first Finnish tour together with Klaani and Daddy Hoower Show. Since then Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat's booking-agency is Nem-Booking. In 2000 album "Aari" ("Edge") was released. Uncommon design and music, so much loved by public, was a good calculation – the album was a success. Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat was so popular in Finland that the band performed before the fests, during the fests and also after the fests. By the way, during the autumn tour Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat played songs only from "Aari", in the same order as they were on the album. Nation-wide cable channel MoonTV showed a programme about the tour. Besides, "Aari" was the first album in MKKK's career which was worth filming the videos, actually three videos to: "Rinta" and "Valaiden laulu" (directed by Tuukka Temonen) and "The Best of Mozart" (directed by Jari Lahteinen). One year later, in October 2001, Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat released their fourth album "Rautaneito" ("Iron Lady"). This long-play got success not only from the fans and critics, but also commercial – it was 38th in charts. The first single from the album included songs "Romanssi", "Taivaanvuohi" and "Kun lapset aamulla heräsivat" (the last one isn't on the album). "Romanssi" video was shot by Jari Lahteinen. The next video – for "Rocktähti" was made by Tuukka Temonen again. In the beginning of 2003 Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat returned to life with new album "Metallisydan" ("Metal Heart"). The single "Arpi" got 14th place in charts. The video was shot straight away, of course. Again by Jari Lahteinen. The last up to date release from Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat is the single including five covers for the songs of Finnish legendary band Musta paraati who seemed to be the first Finnish punks, the first Finnish goths and so on. EP is called "Musta paraati" ("Black Parade"). It was out in the beginning of 2004 and went to the third position in national charts. After that Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat got an invitation to Ruma-klubi, and this show was broadcasted on TV2. The lineup:
