Tommy Suomala

[Kris & Melamory]

Interview with Tommy Suomala (SoulRelic)
3.05.2005
via e-mail

SoulRelic personifies so-called Finnish love-metal. The band is very young and showing promise, so we were quite eager to find out how the guys from SoulRelic in the person of the vocalist Tommy Suomala see their future. Moreover, our interview yet again has proved that a talk with a young star is always joyful :).

Markus Toivonen

[Melamory]

Interview with Markus Toivonen (Ensiferum)
15.02.2005
via e-mail

Ensiferum is one of those unique bands that can't pass unnoticed. Heavy sound, folk melodies, complex choirs and heroic lyrics sound exceptionally coherent and positive.
We couldn't miss our chance when it became clear that Ensiferum indeed were going to play gigs in Russia – and here's the interview with the band's leader, Markus, concerning various matters inside and outside Ensiferum.

[CrimsonDawn WebTeam]

Interview with Jorma Korhonen (Sara)
11.02.2005
via e-mail

Sara is unique - at lease we think so. But living in a small place in Finland and playing heavy music, Sara is almost unknown to the metalheads. It was our point to throw some light on the band. CrimsonDawn WebTeam sent the questions to Jorma Korhonen, the leader of Sara, and he replied some of them.

Jape Peratalo

[Maria Key & Melamory]

Interview with Jape Peratalo (To/Die/For)
7.02.2005
via e-mail

To/Die/For are very popular in Russia. And nothing can deny that. The doubtful last album and lack of concert activity recently were forgiven – and yet again we are ready to die for love. The band's visit to Russia gave us a good reason to ask Jape about To/Die/For, the new album and the feeling of going abroad after a long break.

Sami, Mel & Lauri

[Melamory]

Interview with Lauri and Sami (Embraze)
18.09.2004
Kuusisaari, Oulu

18th of September was a special date - the day when our dear Embraze celebrated 10th anniversary. It was Crimson Dawn WebTeam's honour and pleasure to be in Kuusisaari that night. After an amazing gig Lauri and Sami agreed to reply some questions from me. We all were celebratingly drunk, of course:) But still - read and enjoy:)
The picture is taken by Tero Lassila, thanks dude:)

Anton Laurila

[Mona Sabbath]

Interview with Anton (Feiled)
30.08.2004

via e-mail

Crimson Dawn WebTeam keeps an eye on newborn talented bands. Feiled is one of a kind :) Anton, the singer of the band, told us some general information about the band, his attitude to music and Finnish bands etc.
And he also destroyed a myth of Finnish people being slow: at 15.00 I sent the questions and I got the answers by midnight!
Thanks to Lauri for his help :)

Jape Peratalo

[Melamory & Kris]
Interview with Jape Perätalo (To/Die/For)
18.07.2004.
Tuska, Helsinki

We've been waiting for this interview for ages. It was worth waiting:) Nowadays Jape looks very healthy and it looks like he's in a good spirit… Ah, I have to say it: he looks awesome:). Some changes happened in the band, and it seems like everything around To/Die/For turned out much better than it was while ago. So, we spoke a bit about past and about future, and now we wait from To/Die/For something new, cute and, of course, mizerable:)
Thanks to Jape for being Jape:) And thanks to Jaani for some help:)

Amorphis

[Melamory & Minor]
Amorphis press-conference
21.05. 2004.
Moscow, CDK MAI

Press-conference took place a couple of hours before the second show of Amorphis in Moscow and… surprisingly the journalists had nothing to ask from the guys. So, all the questions were asked by five people, including us two. However like it always happens the official press-conference turned out to a nice talk. And it looks like after all everybody was satisfied.

Naked

[Sudden Nymph]

Interview with Muff (Naked)
20.03.2004
via e-mail

There're quite many young, bright and ambitious bands in Finland nowadays. Is glam-rock coming back? – It seems so.
Naked is one of those bands. Their debut album called "This One Goes To Eleven" was just released on March 31. A week before Muff, the leader of the band, told us about Naked history, about the album, about plans and about dreams.
Ah, sure. There's another one new music style created in Finland – cock-rock.

Embraze

[Kris]

Interview with Ilkka and Sami (Embraze)
02.03.2004
via e-mail

The idea of this interview appeared long ago since there were really many things one could ask Embraze about. And one fine day (2d March 2004) the bunch of questions (including our TM stupid ones :)  made in record-breaking time went to Kiiminki, Finland:) As the result we've got a wonderful interview lighting up some myserious moment of the band's history and also lots of funny stuff :) Thanks, Ilkka and Sami!

Jussi69

[Melamory / Pascalle]
Interview with Jussi69 (The 69 Eyes)
November 8, 2003.
Pakkahuone, Tampere

End of the year – high-time to sum everything up. That is what we asked Jussi69 about. A couple of months ago The 69 Eyes released a compilation "Framed in Blood - The Very Blessed Songs of The 69 Eyes". It means that The 69 Eyes are ready to estimate their past and think about the future. Jussi69 - as always - was charming and shared his thoughts with us.

Larry & Jonne

[Melamory]

Interview with Jonne and Larry (Negative)
Septembet 26, 2003.
Vernissa, Tikkurila

This conversation was our first acquaintance with Jonne Aaron and Larry Love – the members of a new band Negative. They were cute and touching fellows. The guys are still very sincere in the way they perceive the current situation: they still do not believe in their fame and they cannot really understand what is going on around. But they do like compliments.
When people meet for the first time, they usually introduce themselves that is why we asked the boys to begin with presenting themselves, their band and music. Now we know everything about emotional rock'n'roll ;)

Children of Bodom

[Melamory & Kris]

Press-conference of Children of Bodom
August 17, 2003
"Purple Legion", Moscow

Contrary to our expectations Children of Bodom appeared at the press-conference in time, in a good mood and all together. Angry "babies" proved to be sweet, adequate and very sociable. The press-conference was unexpectedly lively and interesting to both "fan"-journalists and the band members.
Many thanks to Big Brother Entertainment for this pleasure.

Burton

[Klio & Pascalle]

Interview with Jani Purtinen (HIM)
August 2, 2003
Ankkarock, Vantaa

Interview with Jani was taken for Crimson Dawn by our friends Klio and Pascalle. According to them, Puppe was surprisingly shy, but quite talkative. Thanks to the girls we even have Burton's self-portrait drawings ;). Well, at least now we all know that Puppe is a nice, polite and honest man.

JP Leppaluoto

[Melamory]

Interview with Juha-Pekka Leppaluoto (Charon)
July 12, 2003
Ilosaarirock, Joensuu

Juha-Pekka *in love sigh* :) green grass in Joensuu…. What a great feeling it is to interview a guy who is willing to be interviewed! JP was ready to talk about everything. The blabbering was full of jokes, funny stories and healthy self-irony. JP made an impression of an honest and smart man. And… pay attention to his comment about Negative:)
[interview]

Jyrki69

[Melamory]

Interview with Jyrki (The 69 Eyes)
March 4, 2003
exclusively for Ytro.ru

"At 7p that guy… what was his name… ah, that Finnish guy will call you", - I had been told at work. At 7pm sharp I heard a phone call.
I found out that it is possible to take a phone interview and that this kind of an interview can be pleasant too.
It was nice to hear how eager Jyrki was to visit Moscow in order to spend time at some crazy vampire parties. But don't forget your sunglasses! And Jyrki's speech about morning jogging is a masterpiece %).

Henri Sorvali

[CaT / Kris]

Interview with Henri Sorvali (Moonsorrow)
December 16, 2002

It was our first e-mail interview for the young Crimson Dawn. Moonsorrow has always been a really dear band to us. That is why we were happy to get the permission of asking them a load of wacky questions via e-mail. Henry Sorvali was the one who found some time for us. Interview turned out rather informative. We were especially impressed by the graceful swearing in English *lol*. Read the interview - and you will know about true-Vikings a bit more.
[interview]

Pasi Koskinen

[Melamory]

Interview with Pasi Koskinen (Amorphis)
December 14, 2002
La-La Park, Moscow

This short talk was a quick improvisation, while we were running from the signing-session place to the bus. There is nothing really impressive or important about this "interview", but at least we have learnt that Pasi likes swearing in Russian;)
[interview]

Bazie

[Melamory & Key]

Interview with Bazie (The 69 Eyes)
November 24, 2002.
Liekki, Helsinki

After almost a two-hours talk we had only one question to Bazie: "Are you sick'n'tired of us already?" His reply impressed us a lot. Bazie said this interview was not only interesting, but also quite important for him, because answering some questions set him thinking. Moreover, due to our questions he realized that now he views many things in a different way.
Still Bazie is a real rocker in the most positive meaning of the word. His youth was insane, his maturity is experienced and wise.
[interview]

Jyrki69

[Melamory]

Interview with Jyrki (The 69 Eyes)
August 3, 2002
Ankkarock, Korso

Jyrki in the blue-jeans clothes, with a black scarf and a stylish hat impressed us deeply. Besides, he struck us with the serious way of taking life. Only after the interview we realized that The 69 Eyes is a serious enterprise, as well as the concept we used to make fun of. We also noticed that Jyrki does not like jokes, especially jokes about him or the band. But… we have to admit, that Jyrki succeeded to persuade us: The 69 Eyes is cool and Paris Kills is a divine album.

Ville & Mige

[Melamory]

Interview with Ville Valo and Mige (HIM)
July 19, 2002
Tammerfest, Tampere

It was obvious that this interview could not be perfect. First of all everybody was in a hurry, because the guys did not have much time. Secondly, I was not the only one who was trying to take a quick interview, two polish girls were there too. Thirdly, the interview was taken during the performance of Timo Rautiainen and Trio Niskalaukaus on the main stage. It was in the tour-bus that we tried to hide away from Timo and his growling, but still even on the tape Timo is heard much better than Ville and Mige taken together. Anyway… the interview is here :).
[interview]

Jussi69

[Melamory]

Interview with Jussi69 (The 69 Eyes)
July 19, 2002
Tammerfest, Tampere

Jussi69 came to us wearing an unbuttoned black shirt and said "Hello, I'm Jussi". The only one thing I could reply is "I know you're Jussi". Well, I suppose he noticed my staring at his amazing body, because he buttoned his shirt up right away.
To interview Jussi69 is a pleasure. He is nice and friendly, talkative and attentive. Jussi answers your questions even before you ask them. And… Jussi told me everything about Ville Valo's kissing abilities :).

HIM

[Melamory]

Press-conference of HIM
December 16, 2001
Club "Liverpool", St.Petersburg

Weird animals on display, or the so-called “journalists” in a Zoo...
We never understood why Puppe and Gas had come there, since no questions were addressed to them. During the press-conference the so-called “journalists" were only eager to give HIM presents and to tell Ville how much they loved him.
Nevertheless, some questions and replies were curious enough and are worth reading.
